Senior Capstone Experience: Overview. The Business Management Senior Capstone draws on knowledge, research, analysis, and writing skills that students have gained and honed during four years of study. It is an intensive research project in the fields of business management, guided by a faculty adviser, on a topic of the student's choice. Students complete the Capstone while enrolled in the 4-credit Senior Capstone Experience (SCE) course in the spring of their senior year. The Capstone receives a mark of Pass, Fail, or Honors. Capstone tracks. There are two tracks for the Senior Capstone Experience in Business Management. The first track, the Strategy Capstone, investigates a company's strategy using formal analytic tools. It builds on the department's required curriculum, in particular on BUS 403. The second track, the Special Capstone, reflects the student's interests and the nature of the collaboration between the student and his or her faculty adviser.

Double majors are encouraged to undertake Special Capstones that integrate their majors. Since this requires consultation and cooperation between departments and faculty advisers, double majors should discuss the possibility of an integrated Capstone in their junior year. For detailed information on the Business Management Capstone, please see the department Web site.
